The two-speed transmission option (some assemblies required) allows the vehicle speed to be increased by approximately 40%.
Drivers can choose between DIG and 2-speed transmission options, or perform both with a 4-channel transmitter and two servos (not included).
AR45 portal axles feature offset front housing for a realistic appearance.
The axle housings also use portal gears for increased ground clearance and a universal that provides 45 degrees of steering.
The differential lock features hypoid gears, which allows for smaller gears, better gear reduction and reduced torque twisting.

Overview
Axial® SCX10 ™ III 1/10 Scale Jeep® JT Gladiator 4WD RTR marks the next step in off-road action in scale out of the box. While continuing to incorporate key components that have made SCX10 ™ vehicles successful, the SCX10 ™ III chassis increases realism with details that include a replica V8 engine to accommodate the front-mounted 540 brushed motor, mated to a realistic transmission housing and a Transfer box as a 1: 1 Vehicle. The Spektrum ™ DX3 ™ 3-Channel 2.4GHz DSMR® Transmitter and Firma ™ 40A Receiver / ESC are also ready to give you the benefits of the innovative Spektrum ™ Smart technology.
Out of the box, the Jeep® JT Gladiator SCX10 ™ III transmission offers a third-channel DIG function that lets you lock the rear axle from the transmitter for front-wheel drive and a tighter turning radius. Although factory locked, you can set the vehicle to have 40% faster second gear instead of DIG - or, by adding another micro servo and using a radio with at least four channels (such as the 5-channel Spektrum DX5), they have access simultaneous with both DIG and two-speed functions.
The SCX10 ™ III Jeep® JT Gladiator uses the new AR45 ™ portal axles to improve performance by increasing ground clearance and reducing torque twist. The engine sits in the front of the frame for forward weight. The standard battery tray is positioned near the center of the vehicle for better balance and accepts standard size LiPo or NiMH packs. There are also positions in the side pods for drivers who prefer the small "shorty" LiPo packs. The internal fenders and floor sidewalls hide internal components that would normally be visible from the side of the frame.
Completing the chassis is a scale Jeep® JT Gladiator bodywork that mirrors its full-size counterpart with many highly authentic details. The body has over 20 injection molded parts, including a bed storage tray, door handles, mirrors, hood vents and more, taking the realism of polycarbonate bodywork to the next level. The body has been split into three pieces for a more realistic deep bed. Officially licensed Nitto Trail Grappler tires on 3-piece beadlock wheels add more realism to scale and more grip on dirt, rocks and all other off-road trails.
With the Spektrum ™ DX3 ™ radio, you will enjoy the superior range, response and interference resistance of DSMR® technology. Together with the Firma ™ Smart 40A receiver / ESC installed, it also offers the benefits of the unique Spektrum ™ Smart technology. Install a Spektrum Smart LiPo battery and you can view the vehicle's battery capacity at a glance on the DX3 transmitter's voltage level gauge. Equip the DX3 with the optional BT2000 Bluetooth module and download the free Spektrum Dashboard ™ app to your smart device, and you're also ready to use real-time smart telemetry, with no need for on-board sensors or modules.
V8 REPLICA ENGINE COVER, TRANSMISSION BOX AND DIVIDER COVER
The V8 engine cover protects the 540 engine and is mated to a scale transmission housing. In addition to offering engine protection and realistic looks, the design gives the frame a forward-mounted weight.
DIGITAL TRANSMISSION WITH TWO-SPEED OPTION
The transmission comes configured with a DIG function to lock the rear axle from the DX3 transmitter, giving you the tightest turning radius of front-wheel drive on demand. You can also choose to set the vehicle to 40% faster second gear instead of DIG, or upgrade it with an additional micro servo and 4-channel radio (such as the Spektrum ™ DX5) to have access to both DIG and two la speed works simultaneously.
OFF-SET PORTAL AXLE SEAT WITH HYPOID RING AND PINION
The new AR45 ™ portal axles feature an offset front housing for a more realistic appearance, portal gears for greater ground clearance and universal gears that provide 45 degrees of steering. In addition to portal gears, the differential lock includes proven hypoid gears, allowing for smaller sized gears while improving gear reduction on the axle and reducing torque twist.
